EPHESIANS 4:2

Ephesians 4:2 - "With all lowliness and gentleness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love"

Here Paul talks about some of the qualities we should possess when walking the call of God on our life, that is to love him and endeavor to be like him, living a life that exhibits godly character. We are to do this with complete lowliness (complete humility), gentleness (maintaining self-control), long-suffering (patiently enduring anything) and bearing with each other in love.

But just in this past week, I have fallen short of those three qualities. I have given pride a chance in my heart, exhibited no iota of humility, lacked self-control and any form of endurance, allowing my emotions to wander around leading me to ungodly thoughts and conclusion but GOD! in his loving kindness and abundant mercy led me to his shelter, revealing all those ungodly characters in my heart and then offering me redemption.

You see when God chastises or corrects us, it is not to condemn us but to redeem us. Afterall, one of the reasons we accepted him into our hearts was and is because we were and still in constant need of saving. So, his chastisement is his grace towards us.

His unconditional love led me to Ephesians 4:2 reminding me that Jesus embodied all of those qualities and because he lives in me, he can lead me to possessing them too.

Jesus yet innocent and without sin endured all the suffering, hardship and pain we offered him and he endured with humility, gentleness, carrying the weight of our sins, his unconditional love held him up on that cross for you and I, defeating death and rose up victorious.

If that same Jesus lives in us, then you/I can endure with the help of Jesus and rise up victorious.

Happy Easter y'all.
