I WILL WAIT

I think one reason why we sometimes stumble or struggle through a dry or difficult season is because we are impatient. The feeling of dryness, weariness or temptations isn’t necessarily shocking or at least it shouldn’t be because the Bible does tell us that our possibility of walking through the valley of the shadow of death is high, but that same verse tells us that he will be with us and comfort us.

Why then don’t we, at least I feel comforted? Why do these temptations seem to sometimes have me in a chokehold?

Isaiah 40:29-31 :

             29 - He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

            30 - Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;

   31 - but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Some other versions of verse 31 says “but those who trust in/ wait on/ wait for/ hope in the Lord shall renew their strength”. So the strength I need to get/go through the valley and overcome temptations can only be found in the posture of waiting ON THE LORD and not myself because obviously if I had the strength I wouldn’t be in the valley or stumbling into temptations in the first place .

If Jesus, fully God and man overcame the numerous temptations from satan (Mark 1-12-13) in the waiting (fasting), y’all Jesus fasted! Like the very word of God fasted! He understood the importance of our mortal vessel waiting on God so our strength can be renewed.

That’s it,  I mean what more do I need to know, read or say. If Jesus waited on the Lord, I WILL WAIT.

IRE.
